Capital Interchange Way Delivers Major Embodied Carbon Saving
Capital Interchange Way has also been recognised for its sustainability performance, with CCS Facades named as a finalist in the Construction News Workforce Awards 2025 in the Sustainability Team of the Year category for work on the scheme. The live CCS news article states that the project achieved an embodied carbon reduction of more than 392,000kg.
This reduction was achieved through the use of TECHNAL glazing systems extruded from billets produced from a minimum of 75% post-consumer scrap. It is a strong example of how facade design and product selection can support better environmental outcomes without compromising quality or delivery on a major live scheme.
Set within a wider mixed-use development of 420 homes and 4,200 sqm of retail and commercial space, Capital Interchange Way shows how CCS is helping clients deliver facade packages that respond not only to technical and aesthetic requirements, but also to long-term sustainability goals.
